From FD Times: “ARRI has announced today that existing Alexa cameras can soon be upgraded with internal ARRIRAW. ARRI and Codex worked together to develop a new XR Module (Xtended Recording) side cover for ARRIRAW uncompressed recording right where your SxS PRO card previously went.” Gearhead plans to have this upgrade available for the Alexa ASAP. The new Kowa Anamorphics that were recently added to the inventory look great! If you loved the look of Django Unchained, or pretty much any JJ Abrams movie, then you’ll really appreciate these lenses. Great horizontal flaring, and awesome rack focus anomalies. Red has just released the beta firmware version 4.0, and they say it’s a game changer. Now available for rent: Kowa Anamorphic prime lens set. Get the look of vintage anamorphics with modern mechanics. They have just been completely rebuilt with PL mounts, focus gears, and 80mm fronts. Arri has just released the latest firmware upgrade for the Alexa, and it has some really significant improvements and features. We’re really excited for this one. The Canon C100 is now available for rental. All of the advantages of shooting with a 5D/7D, but with none of the hassles. Great image quality, endless choice of Canon lenses, small profile and lightweight. But with real audio, reduced rolling shutter, and standard video camera controls, the C100 makes for a great package.
The big brother to the Angenieux Optimo 16-42 is now available for rental. The 30-80 zoom is a T.2.8 throughout its range, is tack sharp, covers 5K, and has the same small size and weight as its little brother.
